In the diverse town of Machynlleth, lined with independent shops and cafes, sits Gwen. Only 3 metres wide, sitting at the centre of the high street, next to the only set of traffic lights, it’s unassuming frontage hides a dark and cosy bar serving specialist cocktails and wine. Head to the back, behind the thick leather curtain, and you enter the restaurant. A single room, a single sitting for 8 diners, shared seating and a completely open kitchen, this is dinner in our home. Somewhere to make new friends or enjoy some great food with best friends. Or both.

You'll find a selection of classic cocktails with a unique twist, crafted using locally foraged ingredients, new creations designed especially for Gwen, and you can even create your own bespoke versions. Wine and cocktails in our casual bar area - open to all! The front of Gwen is dedicated to bar snacks and wine, beer and cocktails, overlooking the street. You get the cosy vibes and intimate atmosphere created by the team in our hand-crafted space for a special treat or a casual drink. Come and try hand-made cocktails, natural wines by the bottle and glass and at lunchtime our chicken and waffle. No reservations required.
